Richard Chavarria

Richard served as an Army Chaplain for 22 years. His service took him across the nation, Europe, South-West Asia and Republic of Korea. He participated in Desert Shield/Desert Storm Operations and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He served units in Field Artillery, Infantry, Aviation, Military Intelligence, Signal, Combat Engineers, and Air Defense Artillery. He held garrison command Chaplain positions in Korea, Oklahoma and Missouri.

Richard learned about The Jonas Project through a veteran One-Stop Center at the Joint Readiness Training Center in Los Alamitos, California, where they matched his skills with the non-profit.

Richard hopes to use his skills to help The Jonas Project meet its financial goal to support veterans in their aspirations to have their own businesses. “My greatest joy is to help those who have shown their selflessness to our country and enable them to make a difference in their communities and for other veterans. I want to continue to serve this outstanding organization,” says Richard.
