Barry is a Veteran of the United States Army, and served for 10 years. He held the rank of Staff Sergeant as an Infantry squad leader before being medically retired for injuries sustained while deployed to Iraq. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Bryant University in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. Barry is currently pursuing his Master’s in Business Administration with a specialization in business analytics.
Barry held the position of Director of Finance and Administration while he successfully incorporated a non-profit start-up that was focused on public health and safety, and continues to assist start-ups by providing administrative and financial assistance.
Barry learned about The Jonas Project from a local article talking about veterans interested in business development, and wants to pay forward the help he’s received from the Veterans Administration as he continues to transition from military service and into the business sector.
“I received help after I was injured (twice) during my third deployment that enabled me to become who I am today. I feel obligated to help anyone who may be in a similar situation by providing whatever help I can. I would not be as fortunate as I am today without the help of others, and I want to continue the trend and make others’ lives better.”
Barry lives in Manville, Rhode Island with his wife Sibel, and his three children; Hailey, Ella, and Brody.
