WIPP AND THE JONAS PROJECT ESTABLISH STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP TO FURTHER THE SUCCESS OF WOMEN OWNED BUSINESSES

Washington, DC, (May 2014) – Today Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP) and The Jonas Project announced a strategic partnership that will allow both organizations to strengthen their ability to advocate for veteran business owners and work together to help their members experience successful business growth. Both WIPP and The Jonas Project will collaborate on programming, events and activities that are of mutual interest and benefit to both organizations and their members.

WIPP is a national nonpartisan public policy organization advocating on behalf of its coalition of 4.7 million businesswomen including 75 business organizations. WIPP identifies important trends and opportunities and provides a collaborative model for the public and private sectors to increase the economic power of women-owned businesses.

The Jonas Project moves with Veteran Entrepreneurs through their quest to become tomorrow’s high-impact business leaders. There is no greater resource to impact Veteran unemployment than Veterans themselves. By helping build successful Veteran-owned business, they can hire more Veterans as they grow. The Jonas Project provides needed resources to help ensure the success of Veteran-owned startups. Resources like legal services, marketing, funding, human resources, networking and most importantly, mentors. The Jonas Project assigns each Veteran a team of mentors that provide guidance through the first two years of their new business.

“Partnering with The Jonas Project will help WIPP strengthen its outreach to veteran business owners and increase its advocacy, international impact, and educational programming” said WIPP President Barbara Kasoff. “The Jonas Project is a very well respected voice, and WIPP is proud to be collaborating with an organization that creates so many incredible opportunities for women.”

“Working with WIPP will give our Veterans resources and exposure on a whole new level. One of our founding missions is to work in collaboration with other organizations to advance the cause of Veteran-owned business owners, and WIPP brings to the table not only an incredible collaborative opportunity, but a perfect fit for growth and outreach,” said The Jonas Project founder Teri Kelsall. “We are very excited to work with such an influential organization.”
