April Highlights
April found us very busy with two friend-raisers held in Cedar Park, TX. Our Story Teller and a dear friend of hers who owns a Primrose School got together to make it happen. They sold several Live Harder shirts, accompanied by some very generous donations. Thank you to Kim (our Story Teller), Kasey (Primrose owner), Josh Waguespack, one of TJPs Veterans who came to share his story, and all who attended.
John (In-Charge of Other Stuff) was invited to sit on the Advisory Board for Saddleback Community College’s Veteran program.
Currently we are serving 17 Veteran Owned Businesses, with several launching next month.
We received the notes and results of the Meeting of the Mentor Minds from our facilitator, and now we enter Stage II, to make our services for our VOB’s the best they can be. All of our Mentors will be involved in helping to formulate our policies and improve their involvement.
We have also put our calendar together for our weekly VOB meetings that will take place with the assistance of our Capacity Builder and Story Teller. We want our VOB’s to know each other, celebrate successes, and discuss roadblocks or issues they may have. We will be doing the same thing with our Mentors.
That’s all for this month, May is going to prove to be incredible.
We also have a wonderful new idea for our VOB’s, so stay tune for its finalization.
