Yair Segal

Yair has being coding since the second grade in Basic. That’s probably part of what lead him to a bachelor in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech.

Yair spent time as a sniper in a special forces team attached to the paratroopers in the Israeli military. Most of his time during active operations was spent in southern Lebanon fighting the Hezbollah.

For the past 10 years Yair has been developing web and mobile applications using C# and C++. As a passionate coder you can often find him coding at 4:00am on weekends.

In 2008 after moving into a manager position Yair started Peach Software Inc., to provide residual income (what he earmarked as his “motorcycle money”) and keep his coding skills up to date.

Since 2010 he has served as the chief software architect and CEO of Peach Software Inc.

Yair found The Jonas Project through an online article. After reading the article, he wanted to volunteer and bring some of his business experience and skills to Veterans. “I would really like to help people who are having a tough time transitioning from a military to a civilian environment,” says Yair. “I know it was one of the toughest points in my life. I would like to help others to have a smoother ride.”

In addition to his work, Yair is a regular contributor/sponsor to several local tech events and conferences. In his free time Yair likes to ride his motorcycle, play basketball, do cross fit and obstacle mud runs.
