June Update
TJP reps attended an incredible collaborative concerning Veterans and Military Families. It was held at USC Social Work Center for Innovation and Research. Many agencies and organizations were present, each there to help fill the needs for Veterans and active military personnel. The contacts were incredible, allowing us to build our resources. It is a meeting that is held monthly and we will be in attendance again.
Other news, the City of Norwalk invited us to sit at the table during their initial planning stages of revitalizing some of their neighborhoods and bringing in Veteran Owned Businesses as tenants once the revitalization happens. It’s just the beginning of a long process, but hopefully in a year or two it will become reality.
We attended a meeting with Long Beach Non-Profit Partnership, of which we are a member. They has some grantors present and training on how to pursue much needed money. We also found ourselves in Coronado, CA attending Admiral Pybus’s Change of Command. As soon as he arrives in Brussels he will receive his third star. He is now assigned as head of NATO, but he will always be in our hearts.
