From One Veteran to Another: A Gift from WWII Veteran Entrepreneur Jack Nadel
Determined to make a difference for fellow veteran entrepreneurs, Jack Nadel has pledged to directly support U.S. veterans through sharing gifted copies of his award-winning book through his Veteran Gifting Program for 10,000 veterans, including those connected with The Jonas Project. He has also recently appeared as a featured speaker for the U.S. Small Business Administration in an interview Webinar for their 2013 Veteran Speaker Series, where we first encountered him, and thankfully to the benefit of vetrepreneurs everywhere, the interview was recorded and can be found online here as a resource for veterans interested in business.
Jack Nadel served the United States of America during WWII, a time of great conflict, in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946, before being honorably discharged as Captain, U.S. Army Air Force, having flown 27 missions in a B-29 Bomber over Japan. Nadel was a combat navigator and radar bombardier, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters. He and his fellow flight crewmembers also received the Presidential Unit Citation, a top award for the Air Force.
Jack shared this reflection about his military experience:
“I have no idea why I survived combat against such overwhelming odds. I do know, though, that the situation was made tolerable by having a positive outlook. The power of the mind was never more succinctly proven in my life, because even under those adverse conditions, there were many laughs and good feelings shared by our crew. My natural inclination was to look on the bright side, even though the other side was a disaster. It was then that I learned to hope for the best and be prepared for the worst, a lesson that continued to serve me throughout my career as an entrepreneur.”
Jack has been an international entrepreneur for nearly seven decades—and has made a healthy profit every single one of those years. He founded, acquired, and operated more than a dozen companies worldwide that produced hundreds of new products, thousands of jobs, and millions of dollars in profits, including Jack Nadel International, a global leader in the specialty advertising and marketing industry.
From this broad and solid foundation of experience, Nadel has authored a number of popular business books including, The Evolution of an Entrepreneur, winner of five Global Ebook Awards including three Gold Awards for Best in Business, Leadership and Careers/Employment, written with the purpose of assisting entrepreneurs with attaining greater business success.
In addition to his commercial enterprises and writing career, Nadel has lectured at several colleges and universities, made numerous media appearances and from his tremendous experience he’s developed his own practical targeted thinking methodology for entrepreneurs called The Nadel Method. Though insisting that he has retired, at age 90 Nadel continues to share his expertise and wisdom mentoring future business leaders and entrepreneurs, including with two of our very own Jonas Project Warrior Entrepreneurs, Greg Call, founder of PatriotMove, and Brian Gilb, founder of the Social Publishing House.
“Military service places a premium on developing leadership skills, mission effectiveness and a high need for achievement,” says Nadel. “These are the very same qualities that I believe entrepreneurs need to encourage innovation and take decisive actions in the face of dynamic environments. It’s my goal to pass on the legacy of what I have learned and make it readily available to anybody who is willing to work and contribute toward a better life for all,” he added.
We invite all U.S. veteran entrepreneurs to visit the webpage for his Veteran Gifting Program and submit a request for a complimentary copy of The Evolution of an Entrepreneur while supplies last.
