Bill Janner brings over forty years of leadership and business management experience to The Jonas Project mentoring team. Bill has held a variety of sales, marketing, operations and senior management positions in both the industrial wholesale/supply chain management and manufacturing industries, including those of President and CEO.
As President and CEO of Associated Suppliers, Inc., Bill led the successful growth of a single facility, small business to a regionally based, middle market business with operations in four Western states, as well as a joint venture and wholly owned subsidiary in Northern Mexico. After nearly two decades of growth as an Employee Owned (ESOP) business, Bill led his company, along with eight other founding businesses, in the formation of Industrial Distribution Group, Inc. IDG was the first roll-up and simultaneous IPO within their industry.
Interested in re-entering the privately-held business sector, Bill became President and CEO of Can & Bottle Systems, Inc. (CBSI). CBSI manufactured capital equipment machinery to automate the return of used beverage containers in jurisdictions throughout the world that have enacted container deposit/redemption legislation. After nine years of progressive sales increases, Bill sold the business to Tomra, a Norweign company, and the dominant business in the industry. After nearly three years as Division President, Bill retired in 2013.
Throughout his career in both supply chain and manufacturing management, Bill acquired and applied skill sets relative to strategic planning, acquisitions, quality management systems, process improvement, leadership coaching and team building. His passion for business stems from the enjoyment of helping both individuals, as well as a team of people conceive of, articulate and then accomplish a compelling future.
After living near Portland, Oregon for the past 38 years, Bill recently returned to Michigan, his home state. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan, with both a BBA and MBA degrees in product management. He enjoys sports of all kinds, reading and spending quality time with friends and family.
